The Lewiston Read!
You see it everywhere you go. Your friends can’t stop talking about it, and even your teacher is reading it. You’ve got to get your hands on this book!
This May, join our city-wide initiative – THE LEWISTON READ! Let’s come together through reading, where everyone in the community reads the same book—you, your teacher, local firefighters, your friends, the Mayor, your dentist —everyone!
This year’s book choice is Dragons in a Bag by Zetta Elliott. Be on the lookout for book trivia, special Take & Make kits, and photo challenges!
Besides reading the book, you can participate in all kinds of ways! You can:
- Spot the book in local businesses and organizations throughout the city
- Post a selfie of yourself on social media reading the book with the hashtag #TheLewistonRead
- Join us for the Mythical Creatures Virtual Trivia Night on May 20th–please email LPLKIDS@lewistonmaine.gov for zoom link and passcode. To participate you will need a device like an iPad or smartphone–any device that can connect to the internet. The winning family will receive a signed copy of Dragons in a Bag!
- Come in for a browsing appointment or use LPL To Go to check out the book and get at dragon-themed kids’ take & make kit (which includes a dragon in a bag!!)
- Watch an interview with the author, Zetta Elliott!
