Anne Williams to Speak at Friends Annual Meeting

Nov 14, 2019— 5:30 pm

On Thursday, November 14th, join the Friends of the Lewiston Public Library for a talk featuring Lewiston author Anne Williams, who will discuss “Jigsaw Puzzles: A Brief History and Their Place in Maine,” in LPL’s Callahan Hall.
Anne Williams is a long-time Lewiston resident and is an expert in all things jigsaw. She has written three books on the history of jigsaw puzzles and curated museum exhibits in Maine, Massachusetts and New York. She collected jigsaw puzzles from the 1700s to the present for more than forty years. Most of her collection is now in the permanent holdings of the Strong Museum in Rochester, NY.  She is a Professor Emerita at Bates College and holds an A.B. from Smith College and a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago.
This talk is part of the Friends of the Lewiston Public Library annual meeting program and is open to the public. Friends membership is not required to attend. The Friends business meeting will take place at 5:30 PM and the author talk will begin at 6:00 PM. Books will be available for sale and signing at the event.
