BookReach is looking for volunteer readers!

BookReach-Logo-Top-300x261 BookReach is a community collaboration of volunteer readers who bring story times and books to children in licensed family childcare homes.
If you like children and reading out loud, please check out our BookReach page for details

The Children’s Department is looking for volunteer Shelf Readers!

Volunteer(s) needed in the Children’s Department for shelf reading! Do you enjoy spending time in the library and interacting with children’s books? Do you love to tidy up and create order wherever you go? Are you looking for a flexible volunteer opportunity? This could be a great fit for you!
Shelf reading is a very specific task – literally reading the shelves to make sure all the books are in the right place – but it can be very relaxing and satisfying for the right person. Attention to detail is a must!
Call 207-513-3133 or email lplkids@lewistonmaine.gov to learn more!

Volunteer Driver!

Fortunately, the library currently has an enthusiastic and dedicated Volunteer Driver. However, that may change; if this role interests you, please keep us in mind for the future:

Are you interested in helping the library put up event flyers around Lewiston and Auburn? The Lewiston Public Library is looking for a dedicated person who is willing to drive to various locations around the Twin Cities and distribute library flyers and promotions to local businesses. Two or three times a month library staff will contact you and let you know we have flyers ready to distribute. You will come to the library to pick them up on the 2nd floor. Once you have the flyers, just visit each location and put up our flyers according to the instructions on the packet. For questions or more information, please contact Steve Bouchard, Adult Services Librarian, at SGBouchard@lewistonmaine.gov or call 207-513-3004 ext. 3508.

Time requirement: Two or three times per month.

Special Requirements: Reliable transportation, phone or email that you regularly check.
