LPL Newsletter 2/22/2021
Update your library card or register for the first time.
Highlights:
- Read Your Mind: Read Your Mind is a monthly, virtual series focusing on teen mental health & wellness. In February we will host teen authors Adib Khorram, Mark Oshiro & Julian Winters to discuss how the intersection of masculinity, queerness, and racial and cultural identity impact teen mental health. Our community guest will be Maine Boys to Men. The program will take place on Wednesday, February 24th at 12 noon virtually via Zoom and streamed to the Lewiston Public Library Facebook page. Register here to attend!
- Book Chat: Join LPL staff for a conversation about what we’re reading, watching, and listening to on Facebook Live. Our last book chat was about the books we own but haven’t read. You can watch last week’s recorded broadcast and follow along with the list of titles we mentioned.
- Youth Mailing: Thanks to our grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities, we are about to send out over 1800 mailings to child and teen patrons to promote our services and online resources to all current and recent past patrons. Do you have a Lewiston Public Library child or teen patron at your house? Keep an eye out for the mailing – including a coupon for a free prize!
LPL To Go is now appointment free! We have made a slight change to process and appointments are no longer required for hold pick-up. Simply call the Lending desk at (207) 513-3134 when you arrive and staff will check out your items and meet you at the door. For more information head to the LPL To Go page, email our librarians, or call the Lending Services desk at (207) 513-3134.
Lewiston Public Library is now offering expanded library services inside the building, including limited walk-in services at specific times! Learn more about computer services and children’s room visits at LPL by Appointment.
